GET TO KNOW ME
My Background
There are so many people in the world who never have the opportunity to pursue the career they love. I’m not one of them. I love what I do!

I am a teacher, coach, mentor, organizer, and problem solver. I like to think about the big picture as well as dive into the details.

Nothing gives me more joy than helping people solve problems.

I don't aspire to make a living. I aspire to make a difference.

The details:

Over 20 years of experience in the non-profit, education, and career sectors
-
External engagement aficionado--I help bridge gaps and translate among different audiences
-
A collaborator who can galvanize disparate perspectives
-
Doer and decision maker
-
Operational guru
What else?
I was appointed by the Governor of Iowa to serve on the Iowa Arts Council board of directors serving the Department of Cultural Affairs. In this role, I serve as a grant reviewer and grant decision maker, advocate for the arts, and representative of the Department in community and state events.

I serve as the Children's Ministry Director for our congregation. This ministry serves our newborns through Grade 5 children through a variety of programs, classes, events, and outreach.
I am a board member of the Amana Arts Guild. This non-profit organization serves to encourage a climate in which the arts flourish and to preserve local cultural heritage. In 2021, I helped the board launch a new retail art gallery to increase the impact and reach of our mission.

I volunteer with several organizations including:
-
American Heart Association
-
Disaster Relief Organization
-
