I remember a day when the wind felt like it could knock me over.--pretty typical in Iowa. I was hiking a familiar trail when a sudden storm rolled in. There was no time to weigh options or debate the forecast. Moving forward was the only choice—standing still meant getting drenched and stuck in the mud. Each step felt heavier than the last, but with every climb, I found firmer ground. By the time I reached the clearing, the storm was gone, and the view was breathtaking. I realized that had I stayed still, I would’ve missed it entirely.
As we step into 2025, I find myself reflecting on that moment. Known changes loom ahead, and the unknown waits to surprise us. Change is rarely easy, but it often leads to something extraordinary when we lean in and keep moving forward. Even the storms have value. They test us, shape us, and ultimately prepare us for what’s next.
